Visiting Germany in June, July, and August: Being the warmest months in the country, the three months are also the wettest. They have an average temperature of 25C / 77F. June usually has a high temperature of 24C / 75F and low of 11C / 52F. July and August have highs of 25C / 77F and lows of 14C / 57F. Keep in mind that most days in the month of July are prolonged with the sun setting pretty late in the evening.
Visiting Germany in September, October, and November: During the fall, temperatures starts to cool off but September and October still experience some warm days. September experiences high temperatures of 20C / 68F and a low of 11C / 52F. October and November have high temperatures of 15C / 59F and 9C / 48F respectively, and lows of 8C / 46F and 4C / 39F. November is the coldest month of the three, with temperatures dropping rapidly to 1C / 34F.
Visiting Germany in December, January, and February: As winter officially begins late in December, the temperature plummets to a low of -3C / 27F in December and -4C / 25F in February. Nonetheless, high temperatures reach 5C / 41F in both December and February with January falling in between. Although snow is quite common, most places in the country miss out on the white Christmas.
Visiting Germany in March, April, and May: March, April, and May bring some relief after the cold season from December to February. With temperatures starting to rise up, March has a high temperature of 4C / 39F and low of 1C / 34F. However, by the time May is over the temperature has risen rapidly with the high of 19C / 66F and low of 8C / 46F. Note that, although the months experience some warm days and cool nights, rain is still frequent and can be followed by storms and lightning.

Low Season: November through March but you should avoid mid-December through January. Although November is a cold month, February and March temperatures slightly start to rise. Airfare and room prices are at their lowest in these months.
Off Peak Season: Also known as the shoulder season, these are the months between the high and low seasons. The months are from April through mid-June and also mid-September to late October.
High Season: Mid-June through August, late September and early October which represents Oktoberfest and mid-December through early January. In the high season, you can expect a lot of local and international tourists, which bring about long lines in all tourist attractions.
Best Months for a Honeymoon: May is the perfect month for a honeymoon. However, September and October are also ideal months to visit Germany due to its weather and great Octoberfest festival.
Best Weather: May to September where the weather is pleasantly warm with temperature typically in the low to mid-20s. May is a great month to explore the country while September has warm days and cool nights.
Best Month to Save Money: The off-peak season months are highly recommended if you want to save some money. However, February is the cheapest month to fly to Germany.
Best Months to go Diving or Snorkeling: November to April. These months have the greatest number of pelagic fish and great visibility.
Best Months for Skiing: December until April. The Weather is cold enough for snow all over the Alps to the Black Forest in Germany regions.
Tips for Traveling to Germany
- Sundays are meant for relaxation. Therefore all shops are closed except grocery stores located in large train stations.
- Water is never free. With Germany rarely having water fountains, everyone is forced to buy water.
- Everything is recycled in Germany; there are large recycling bins on the streets for glass containers. The bins are sorted by colors such as brown, green and white for recycling of beers, plastics, and wine bottles.
- Learn a little German. Although most people in major cities speak English, it is good to learn some basic German words for when you come across older people who don’t speak English.
